Only 1 of 4 Kidapawan City PNP cars working, police admit
KIDAPAWAN CITY – How can a police unit serve about
125,447 residents (as of 2010 census) in the city’s 40 villages with only one
police mobile patrol car working?
The Kidapawan City police office, now led by officer
in charge police director Senior Inspector Zian Paul Cubil, admitted it was
impossible for the local police to respond on crimes timely, especially if they
occur almost at the same time.
With that state of police capability, the Kidapawan
PNP sought the help of Kidapawan City Peace and Order Council.
Kidapawan PNP has four vehicles but only one is
functioning while the three were incapacitated and needs hospitalization.”
The police’s sorry state, according to Cubil, needs
immediate shop works but due tolimitedmaintenance budget from the PNP, the three four-wheel vehicles are lying idle.
Learning the police capacity, the Public Safety
Division of Kidapawan City government, said it will include additional
maintenance budget for the PNP’s mobile vehicle but that is to start next year
yet.
The Kidapawan City chamber of commerce and industry,
alarmed by the spate of crimes like robbery offered to extend assistance.
