P962,000 cash taken from Maguindanao council cashier
TACURONG
CITY – Police authorities here are questioning a tricycle driverin connection with the robbery holdup of two employees of the Maguindanao
provincial board on Thursday last week but only reported to authoritiesTuesday.
Supt.
Junny Buenacosa, Tacurong City PNP chief, said investigation is still on going
on the robbery hold-up against Haguiar Salim, 34 of Datu Odin Sinsuat,
Maguindanao and Bai Kenig Baganian, of Cotabato City, cashier and employee of Sangguniang
Panglalawigan of Maguindanao.
Salim
and Baganian was on board a tricycle en route to the city’s public terminal at
about 2 p.m. when two men flagged down the pedicab and at gun point ordered the
two to turn over the bag that contained P750,000 cash.Buenacosa
said the two had just withdrawn the amount from RCBC bank in Tacurong City for
the gasoline allowance of Maguindanao provincial board members.The
suspects had carted away P962,000 cash to include the more than P200,000
personal money of the victims.”We
were surprised they took a public vehicle carrying huge amount of money,”
Buenacosa said, adding that the tricycle driver, identified as Jerome Dangle,
was also under investigation.
”Normally,
they used a government vehicle with transacting business with any bank in the
city, it was only now that they took public transport,” Buenacosa said.
He
said the Maguindanao provincial board is also conducting an investigation on
the incident.
