Youth urged to be vigilant on reproductive health issues
TACURONG CITY— In
the photo, Regional HIV/AIDS Program Manager Dr. Ali Tumama encouraged students
to be vigilant on reproductive health issues during the Students
Awareness Tour on HIV-AIDs and other sexually-transmitted infections conducted
on December 2.
According to Dr.
Tumama, it is high time for the youth to acknowledge these issues and face
these with an open mind.
To be able to
protect yourself, you must be aware. Use what you know to avoid these
diseases,” he said.
City Councilor
Psyche Sucaldito also backed Dr. Tumama by saying, Kadalasan ang problema ay nag-uumpisa kung wala kang
alam (The problem starts if we do not have the necessary knowledge).
Eighty high school and college
students participated in the activity sponsored by the Department of Health XII
through the Tacurong Office for City Health Services. The activity is part of
the celebration of the World AIDS Day 2014, with the theme Getting to Zero.”
