KORONADAL CITY (Sept. 10/NDBC)-— For failure to vote for two consecutive elections, at least 10,000 voters was deactivated in Koronadal City. Out of the 78,559 registered voters in Koronadal, 10,442 were deactivated,” Lawyer Richard Opinion, Koronadal city election officer, told DXOM-FM Radyo BidaKoronadal, Tuesday. To avoid inconvenience and overcrowding in Comelec offices in October 2015 deadline set by Comelec, Opinion appealed to the registered and deactivated voters to register now. The election officer also said the on going list up has been smooth and the turn out of voters was good.He said Comelec-Koronadalis catering to an average of at least 50 persons per day. This only means that the people of Koronadal are well informed about the voters registration,” Opinion said. To serve the residents in far flung areas, the city comelec office is planning to hold satellite registration centers in the barangays. (NDBC)
