Cops nab 4 major drug suppliers in North Cotabato town seize P1-M worth of shabu

KIDAPAWAN CITY -Four suspected big-time suppliers of methamphetamine hydrochloride or locally known as shabu were arrested by joint elements of the North Cotabato Provincial Police Office (CPPO) and the Army’s 7thInfantry Battalion in a surprise raid in at least five suspected drug dens here early Wednesday morning.Senior Supt. Alex Tagum, police provincialdirector, said they seized from the suspects at least 100 grams of shabu whose street value was estimated at close to P1 million in the 3 a.m. raid. They also recovered four pistols two explosives and several drug paraphernalia, including modern electronic weighing scales. Tagum considered the suspects as major players in the illegal drug trade in the province. After we did a case buildup with these suspects, we found out that indeed, they supply big bulk of shabu to different buyers and distributors in North Cotabato and other parts of Central Mindanao,” said Tagum. Tagum said they started to swoop down the drug dens in the barangays of Kayaga and Purok Krislam in Poblacion ataround 3 a.m. The suppliers and users of shabu were all surprised to see us swooped down their hideouts.We chose this time because it is during these hours that the users or buyers of shabu were in their deep slumber,” he explained. The raids came a week just five days after they raided 10 suspected drug dens in Kidapawan City where they arrested eight big-time suppliers of shabu . The raids, Tagum said, will continue until they get the province ofdrug dens. We assure more of these operations in the coming days.The days of the operators of these shabu tiangge are already numbered,” he said.
