Cotabato City PNP to implement ordinance on CCTV

COTABATO CITY - Police authorities here will soon implement a local ordinance requiring all business establishments to put up CCTV cameras to help deter crimes. We will implement the City Ordinance 3880, more known asCotabato City CCTV
Installation Ordinance of 2010, once Mayor Japal Guiani Jr gave us the green light, Supt. Rolen Balquin, city police director and chair of Task Group CCTV, told DXMS Radyo Bida.He said the ordinance had been published in the local newspaper and after three successive publication, it will be fully implemented in the city.Balquin said the city police then will start inspection of CCTV units in all the business establishments in the city.Balquin said the police will recommend the cancellation of business permits of establishments that failed to provide CCTV footage of a crime that transpired in their midst.Balquin said some establishments have not complied with the ordinance. Others have installed cameras but were not working.By year end, Balquin said it is expected all business establishments in the city shall have CCTV cameras.
