Dawlah Islamiya leader, followers slain in Marawi Army operation

MARAWI CITY - Military forces raided early today the safehouse of Dawla Islamiyah leader Abu Zacaria and killed him when he and his group resisted, the Western Mindanao Command said.

Clearing operation is still on going.  The Sarimanok area of Marawi City had been surrounded by police and military forces.

Roads leading to Sarimanok district remained close as of posting.
