DBM allots P75.9M budget for Tacurong in 2017
TACURONG CITY - The City of Tacurong will receive a total of Php75,907,092.75
budget allocation for the implementation of development projects under the
Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) and KALSADA Program
in 2017, says the the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Of the 75.9 million pesos, 27 million pesos will be
spent for BuB projects while Php48,907,092.75 will be earmarked for the KALSADA
Program. KALSADA stands for Konkreto at Ayos na Lansangan ang Daan Tungo sa
Pangkalahatang Kaunlaran. KALSADA and
BuB are two key programs for cities in 2017.
In his letter addressed to Mayor Lina Montilla, DBM
Secretary Florencio Abad said that the Department had included these amounts in
the proposed National Expenditure Program for 2017 to be endorsed to the
Congress for inclusion in the General Appropriations Act.
DBM had also identified other cities that will receive
assistance for the two key programs.
The entire funds for KALSADA and more than half of
the funds for BuB will be released directly to the cities,” said Abad.
Under the BuB, the Local Poverty Reduction Action Team
(LPRAT) composed of local government officials and civil society groups plan
and set the budget for anti-poverty projects.
The LPRAT of the City of Tacurong had already
identified 2017 BuB projects early this year. Projects identified by LPRAT are
then submitted to the national government for validation and eventually, for
budget allocation.
This devolution, according to Abad, is part of the
efforts in advancing the principles of inclusive growth.
