DOT-12 trains Koronadal hotel front liners for PRISAA

KORONADAL CITY – Days before the arrival of this year’sPrivateSchools Athletic Association (PRISAA) 2016 participants, the Department of Tourism12 reinforced the city’s front lines with theTraining on Comprehensive Housekeeping Operations, Waitering and Bartending, and Front Office Operations. Nelly Dillera, DOT-12 regional director, said training for Koronadal City hadfinished timely for the PRISAA 2016, although the training was not just meant solely for the event.With the tagline Kanami Koronadal” which means nice Koronadal, this city has continuously been hosting different activities for both provincial, regional, and national events.The training is part of the Bottoms Up Budget 2016 granted to Koronadal held last March 28 to April 02 with 140 participants from this city.Dillera noted thatthere was a need to develop and improve the performance of front liners in rendering first rate professional service in the city.Being the regional seat, Koronadal City is a frequent host of regional and national events. An increasing demand of not just accommodation but quality service is inevitable.Having submitted their tourism plan as part of the BUB requirement, the conduct of the said training was made possible with DOT accredited speaker Julius Judalena as the speaker.Judalena believed that to meet the globally competitive tourism industry, employees working in the hospitality industry must be developed and empowered through the skills program.Koronadal has been a host to different big events including National Press Conference, The International Folklore Festival, and now the National PRISAA.Hosting this year’sPRISAA National Games is South Cotabato, whose provincial office is located in this city.South Cotabato prepared the tourism sites of the province to be showcased during the duration of the sports event, most of the contests are held at the South Cotabato Sports Complex which is also located in Koronadal City.At least4,000 athletes from the 17 regions all over the country are now in Koronadal City.
