DPWH asked to explain why incomplete projects reported as completed
COTABATO CITY –
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cotabato City district
office has a lot of explaining to do for incomplete infrastructure projects
reported as 100 percent complete.
Lawyer Cynthia
Guiani Sayadi, Cotabato City administrator, said she was surprise to see the
DPWH report that several projects in the city have been reported on paper as
100 percent complete but in truth and in fact they were not.
Sayadi cited
the case of Datu Ayunan Elementary School in Barangay Kalanganan Mother,
Cotabato City where the DPWH reported as 100 complete.
The building
was incomplete, no ceiling, no windows and just the roof, walls and doors, but
it was reported completed 100 percent by DPWH,” Sayadi said.
Engr. Engr.
Marlou Deguia, OIC district engineer in Cotabato City, has been summoned by the
Cotabato City Sangguniang Panglungsod to explain.
