Filipino nurse working in Saudi coming home in a box
KIDAPAWAN CITY
– The remains of a Filipino nurse who allegedly committed suicide in Dammam,
Saudi Arabia is expected to arrive in Kabacan, North Cotabato next week,
relatives said.
Calixto
Comilang, father of Pinay nurse Carolyn, said they were told that her remains
will be sent through the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) by November
15.
The
25-year-old Carolyn allegedly committed suicide by hanging inside her room in
Dammam on October 23 due to depression.
Comilang could
not believe his daughter would kill herself.
He said he noticed nothing unusual when he last talked to her on October
12 or 11 days before she reportedly committed suicide.
Comilang said
the OWWA has already informed them of the assistance Carolyn’s family is
entitled to receive.
The nurse had
been working abroad for the past three months and recruited by an agency
licensed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration.Coming was the third OFW from North Cotabatoto die in foreign land this year. The two were from Mlang and Tulunan.
