Gunmen shot dead 19-year-old man in Midsayap

MIDSAYAP,
North Cotabato – Unidentified armed men shot dead a 19-year-old man along a
busy street here on Wednesday night in what police believed was illegal drug
related.

Supt. Reynante
Delos Santos, Midsayap police chief, told DXMS Radyo Bida theshooting incident occurred at 7:45 p.m. along Quezon Avenue.

He identified
the victim as Nano Anas, sidewalk peddler of ready to wear clothes, also known
as Ukay-Ukay,” and resident of Dulawan, Datu Piang, Maguindanao.

Anas, police
said, was back riding with his uncle on board a motorbike when one of two men
riding together on separate motorbike shot him in his back and head.

He was rushed
to the hospital and expired while being operated on, Delos Santos said.

Investigators
found in the victim’s mobile phone several text messages showingtransactions involving illegal drugs with
unidentified men.
