Kidapawan student wins DTI consumer welfare quiz on air
KIDAPAWAN CITY
– A student Kidapawan City National High School (KCNHS) showed she knows her
right as consumer when she won 1st place in the Department of Trade and
Industry Consumer Welfare Month Quiz Bee on the Air” held at dxND Mini-Auditorium,
Kidapawan City.
Bai Mignon
Fatima S. Plang of KCNHS bested other participants from 44 schools in North Cotabato
and received P3,000 plus trophy from the DTI and the Provincial Government of
Cotabato as co-partner in the observation of the Consumer Welfare Month this
October.
Other winners were
Jastine R. Biating of the Spottswood Methodist High School who bagged the 2nd
place (P2,500 plus trophy) and Samcasell B. Ruedas of the Matalam National High
School got the 3rd place (P2,000 plus trophy).
Each coach of
the three winners also received cash prices namely Jose James B. Aballe (coach
for 1st placer) P1,500, Cheryl I. Cerias (coach for 2nd placer) and Dama T.
Forro (coach for 3rd placer) P500.
Mendoza had been
supporting all efforts for the youth and young leaders since the start of her
administration.
Annually, the
DTI actively partnered with the provincial government through the Provincial
Planning and Development Office (PPDO) in inviting public and private high
schools to send their students and join the quiz.
This year, the
Department of Energy (DOE) is the lead agency with the theme Sapat na
Impormasyonand Susi sa Watong Paggamit ng Enerhiya.”
Meanwhile, the
winners of the provincial level will compete for the DTI Regional Level Quiz
Bee on the air in Koronadal City on Oct. 21, 2014.
