'Make Christmas party in school simple, meaningful, DepEd
KIDAPAWAN CITY
– Education officials here will closely monitor the conduct Christmas party in
public elementary and high school in North Cotabato.
Speaking over
DXND Radyo Bida Kidapawan, North Cotabato Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Omar
Obas even urged parents the officials of the Parents-Teachers Association to
monitor the party and stressed that pupils should not be made to contribute
financially for the purpose.
Obas said
DepEd-12 regional office has issued a memorandum directing education officials
and teachers to make the party very simple,” and inexpensive.
He urged
teachers to do away with the traditional party and conduct a more meaningful
celebration like feeding the less fortunate children in the locality.
He said in
lieu of the party, a program that will benefit the environment could be done.
Monetary contribution
to the party is allowed provided the parents, teachers and students agreed to
it.
If possible,
no money contributions,” he said.
In Region 12,
Christmas parties in schools are scheduled on December 18.
