Meagan Young look-a-like Enriquez wins Kidapawan beauty pageant

KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Precious Joy Enriquez, 19-year old budding beauty bested ten other equally talented, smart and beautiful young ladies of Kidapawan as she bagged the Binibining Kalikasan title held at city gymnasium. The Meagan Young look-a-like Enriquez is the second beauty queen crowned as the city government changed the former Mutya ng Kidapawan into Binibining Kalikasan in 2015. Enriquez, is a second year civil engineering student of Notre Dame of Kidapawan College (NDKC) has long been dreaming of becoming abeauty queen, with her advocacy to protect the environment. She also bagged two special awards such as the best in modern long gown and darling of the press. Enriquez apparently got the judges’ nod after answering the questionand Should you win tonight, what would you advise to Kidapawenio to help the city government in protecting the environment? Her answerand To be the Binibining Kalikasan, means having the heart and the passion to protect the environment and our city as well. To protect our city being the city of fruits and highland springs, I would advise Kidapaweno of proper waste disposal. This is my advocacy and this is what I want Kidapaweno to become responsible enough to protect our environment,” Enriquez responded to the question. Enriquez added she did not expect to win the crown, but was nonetheless thankful to the people, especially her parents, schoolmates and classmates who supported her journey to become Binibining Kalikasan 2016. Settling for first runner-up is 19-year old Charmaine Cleo Olarte, civil engineering student of Notre Dame of Kidapawan College (NDKC). Olarte also bagged the best in ethnic attire. Second runner-up is Kathryn Marie Dano, industrial engineering student of the University of Southern Mindanao-Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC) Rizza Lyn Del Mundo, of Collegio De Kidapawan was adjudged 3rdrunner-up while Rose Ann Puig, of the University of Southern Mindanao-Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC), bagged the 4thrunner-up title. Mayor Joseph Evangelista, urged the newly crowned Enriquez to actively participate in all city government campaign on environment protection to help save Mother Earth. The mayor appealed to Enriquez to put into practice her environmental advocacy on waste management, health and sanitation through strengthened community, by involving the government campaign on Nature’s preservation.
