Midsayap jobless man regrets killing mom, seeks pardon
MIDSAYAP,
North Cotabato – A 21-year-old jobless man has shown some remorse for using electric shocks againstmother over ignored demand for money, police said.
Supt. Reynaldo
delos Santos, Midsayap police chief, said Jobert Sinoy told police
investigators he regretted what had happened and sought forgiveness.
On Friday
morning, Jobert demanded money from his mother Susan who at the time was
washing clothes in Barangay Central Bulanan here.
Relatives said
Susan told her son she had no money at that time. Regularly Jobert has been
demanding money to buy alcohol drinks.
When his
demands are ignored, he becomes mad and hit anyone who goes nearer him,”
relatives told DXMS Radyo Bida-Cotabato.
He was a
drunkard,” relatives said.
With his
desire ignored on Friday morning, he pulled a live electric wire and attached
it to the clothesline where his mother was hanging washed clothes, triggering electric shocks. The
49-year-old mother was rushed by relatives to the hospital where she expired along
the way.
Relatives said
Jobert intentionally prepared the electric wire connection for his aggressors.
He prepared
the live wire for barangay tanod (village wathmen) who will come to arrest him,”
relatives said, adding that the mother would alert village watchmen every time Jobert
is drunk and become unruly.
Jobert’s
father suffered burns after he accidentally hit the live wire Jobert prepared
for his aggressors.
Police have
filed parricide charges against Jobert.
