NFAand 'No fake rice in Cotabato City, Maguindanao'

COTABATO CITY - The Maguindanao and Cotabato City office of theNational Food Authority (NFA) has been closely monitoring rice supplies amid reports of fake rice entering the province. So far, we have not found fake rice in the city and Maguidnanao, NFA-Maguindanao provincial manager Kitem Kadatuan told DXMS Radyo Bida.He said aside from reports published and aired in various media outlets, his office personnel have not found fake rice supplies in the local market.Kadatuan said for the past three weeks, his office has been monitoring retail outlets and rice suppliers coming in the city and Maguindanao.But Kadatuan said there were reports smuggled rice from China have entered Iligan and Pagadian markets but these reports are under validation.To consumers, Kadatuan advised them to buy rice to NFA retail outlets and to their regular supplier to avoid getting fake rice supplies, if indeed it has penetrated the local market.
