NPA denies hand in burning of Koronadal passenger jeep

KORONADAL CITY -- The communist New Peoples Army (NPA) in South Cotabato today denied it had a hand in the burning of a passenger Ford Fiera in Barangay San Roque, Koronadal City, near the border of Tampakan, South Cotabato.In a statement sent to DXOM-AM Radyo Bida, a certainKa Efren, spokesperson of the NDF Far South Mindanao, denied any member of the movement was involved int he burning of Sta Felomina Jeep on Dec. 14.Ka Efren said the NPA was a favorite whipping boy of the Philippine police and the military.Police and military authorities earlier blamed the NPA in the twin incident having been known for attacking companies that ignored revolutionary taxation by communist rebels.
