Nurse gets will you marry me proposal from seaman, gives green light

KORONADAL
CITY --Registered nurse Rea Rizza H. Penolvo who works in Saudi Arabia and
on vacation here, had the biggest surprise of her life – a marriage proposal
from her fiancée in a public place and in front of more than a thousand spectators.
To
make his proposal one of kind at least in Koronadal City, Jason Darroca, a
seaman who also works overseas and like Penolvo was on vacation in Koronadal
City, have conspired with few people, including the business establishment owner
in front of Koronadal City’s welcome rotunda who operates a huge LED screen
facing the crossroads.
The
rotunda was closed to traffic as participants to the Hinugyaw” Festival
celebrating the city’s foundation anniversary were in the heat of preparations
for the night’s street dancing contest Sunday.
When
all was set, Darroca invited his girl in the middle of gathering of
participants as his accomplices gave her flowers one at a time. Then Darroca
gave her bouquets as he knelled in front of his surprised yet stunned
girlfriend.
As
the crowd started yelling and chanting, the phrase Will you marry me?” keep
flashing in the huge LED screen in front of Penolvo, visibly surprised and in high
heavens.”
With
tears in her eyes amid some sort of embarrassment, Penolvo hugged her boyfriend
after yelling yes” as the crown roared.
Penolvo is 24 while Darroca is 28 years old and both residents of
Koronadal.
Mark
Jamillo of DXOM-AM Radyo Bida said the girl was seen smiling nervously as she
looked around to see people were celebrating.
Koronadal
City Councilor Mark Lapidez who happened to be in the gathering filmed the
historic event and shared it in the internet.
Still
chuckling as the even unfolded, Penolvo told reporters she was long expecting a
marriage proposal but not the way Darroca did and carried it out with mastery
and passion.
The
love story” spanned 1:06 as cellphone cameras from spectators kept flashing.
Darroco
later revealed he planned the proposal for months and doing it in front of
Koronadalenios could be a fitting and lovely way to show how he loves his girl.
