OMI honors 2018 jubilarians

KIDAPAWAN CITY –The Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) Philippine province today honored its 2018 Jubilarians in a concelebrated Eucharistic celebration with His Eminence Orlando Cardinal Quevedo, OMI, DD and OMI Superior general in attendance.

Twelve Oblate missionary priests celebrated their presbyteral ordination and religious profession this year.

The concelebrated mass was held at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Shrine andamp Retreat Center in Barangay Binoligan here.

Cardinal Quevedo, archbishop of Cotabato, Bishop Angelito Lampon, OMI, bishop of Jolo, and Rome-based OMI Superior General Fr. Louis Lougen, OMI, led the senior Oblates in a thanksgiving mass for the celebrants. The celebration capped the annual retreat of the first batch of Oblate missionaries.

Fr. Armand Carignan, OMI celebrated the 70th anniversary of the profession of his vows while Fr. Christopher O’Leary, OMI celebrated his 50th presbyteral ordination. Both failed to attend the celebration due to health reasons.

Fr. Joel Canonizado, OMI also celebrated his 50th anniversary of his religious profession. Fr. Joel said he expects more anniversaries in his religious life as well as for other jubilarians.

Six other Oblates, including the OMI provincial superior in the Philippines Fr. Charlie Inzon, OMI, celebrated their 25th year presbyteral ordination.

They are Fr. Rogelio Tabuada, OMI, Fr. Jonathan Domingo, OMI, Fr. Francis Zabala, OMI, Fr. Gerry Delos Reyes and Fr. Franklin Mirasol, OMI.

Also celebrating their 25th year of religious profession are Fr. Rizalde Orola, OMI and Fr. Gene Gilos, OMI. Joining the celebrants were their immediate families, friends, parishioners, supporters and co-workers in various Oblate ministries.

Armed Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Carlito Galvez and 6th Infantry Division commander Maj. Gen. Carlito Sobejana were among the guests and attended the concelebrated mass.
