PNP-ARMM issues safety tips in riding public transport

SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao –- Police authorities in the Autonomous Region
in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) today issued safety tips for the public to observe
while commuting via public transport.
The
tips was issued Thursday in the face of crimes involving taxi drivers,
lawless elements and highway hold-up incidents.
Commuters should besafety-conscious allthe time when commuting via public transportation, said a
statement from PNP-ARMM.ARMM
is composed of the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and
Tawi-Tawi.
The
public is urged to jot down the license plate of a taxi, a jeep or a bus then
send it to relatives via text messaging system or take photos of the driver's identification card.The
police advised those taking public transport to immediately alert the police
through Twitter, Instagram, Facebook page or through quick text, sending
information to 2920 or send messages to 0917-847-5757.
