Poverty leads woman to push illegal drugs
KORONADAL CITY - A woman was arrested during anti-illegal drug operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-12) here Friday night.Raquel Delfin, about 40 years old, who has three children and resident of Agreda Phase 1 subdivision, Barangay Sto Nino, Koronadal Citywas arrested following a drug buy bust.Earlier, a poseur buyer secured P500 worth of shabu from Delfin. Minutes later, she was arrested.Seized from her were two sachets of shabu, marked money and shabu paraphernalia.Delfin admitted she has been selling shabu for quiet some time since she has no sources of income. Her husband is in jail facing illegal drug charges.PDEA 12 spokesperson Kath Abad said Delfin has been under surveillance for two weeks prior to her arrest. Charges for violation of RA 9165 are being prepared against Delfin while PDEA agents continue to implement anti-drug drive.On Thursday night, PDEA agents also arrested Ben Perez and Ryan Calzado during anti-drug drive in Block 4, Barangay Zone 4, Koronadal Ctiy.Abad said a PDEA agent posed as buyer and met with the two suspects. But the two forced him to sniff shabu inside the house.
