KORONADAL
CITY - One year ago today, the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) run AM radio
station was officially launched here with one mission - empower its listeners
DXOM-AM called as Chief Executive Listeners (CELs).

One year ago today, Mindanao's first cardinal,
His Eminence Orlando Cardinal Quevedo, DD,along with Fr. Jonathan
Domingo, Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation (NDBC) and OMI provincial superior
Fr. Larry de Guia, OMI, led the launching and inauguration of DXOM-AM, the
sixth radio station of NDBC.

One year ago today, the cardinal urged Radyo
Bida Koronadal to search for truth and integrity. I pray that DXOM-AM will
promote truth and integrity in society by being accountable for its own news,”
he said then.

I hope Radyo Bida Koronadal will support the
search for integrity and the establishment of integrity in our society,” he added.

We need to seek peace, we need to work for peace and pray for peace…and I pray
that DXOM-AM will be true to its identity as part of NDBC as radio for peace in
the then Cotabato empire,” he said.

Ms. Agnes Myra Pinol, Radyo
Bida Koronadal and Happy FM Koronadal station manager, said the station took
Cardinal Quevedo’s challenge seriously.

In the past 12
months, DXOM-AM had made its presence felt in South Cotabato and nearby
provinces of Sultan Kudarat and Saranggani, including portions of Davao del Sur
and Davao Occidental.
It has been promoting peace and dialogues and
empowered its listeners, giving them voice on issues directly or indirectly
affecting them, Pinol said. sand//fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfa1/v/t1.0-9/1484687_10152891896252690_2167003212352026417_n.jpg?oh=488f456900bb535b572263e9764a3344andampoe=56EB7DABandamp__gda__=1456820000_5999040aa19f18e4a21a2de004495dc5 (The voices behind DXOM-AMRadyo Bida from left Roel Osano, Emily Daban, Mark Jamillo andMike Balquin) It

airwaves, advocating responsible journalism anchored onits core values of Commitment,
Integrity, Credibility and Service.” For the years ahead, Pinol said DXOM-AM personnel and staff will continue and improve is programming to cater to the demands of the listening public because they are the 'bida,' we exist because of them. She also thanked andlauded the DXOM-AM partners, advertisers and government agencies for sharing its resources, making the station effective in informing, educating and empowering its chief executive listeners who are also its partners' clients.

Fr.
Domingo said the blessing and launching of Radyo Bida Koronadal last year came as
the OMIs were celebrating its 75th year of daring missionary presence in the
Philippines.

He
said Radyo Bida Koronadal carried its desire to inspire and empower its Chief
Executive Listeners (Bidas) and reach more people with credible news and
information through responsible broadcast journalism.

A
motorcade around town opened this year’s DXOM-AM anniversary celebration with
government agencies representatives, private sector and Radyo Bida
stakeholders.

Fr. Domingo will celebrate
a Thanksgiving mass this afternoon among DXOM-AMRadyo Bida stakeholders at NDBC-Koronadal
Broadcast Center where DXOM-AM and DXOM-Happy FM offices and studios are
located. sand//fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpt1/v/t1.0-9/10671497_10152555485172690_1973243820200009394_n.jpg?oh=6cb06fc353632e3008ce2168ab4c3023:ampoe=56D848B0andamp__gda__=1461663161_0b5470be791471fc9978d5ddaaab8a25 (DXOM-AM, DXOM-Happy FM station manager Agnes Myra Pinol.)
