'Seniang' washes away 10 houses in Lanao del Sur

COTABATO
CITY– Flash floods triggered by light to moderate rain due to
typhoon ‘Seniang,’ washed away at least 10 houses in Butig, Lanao del Sur
Tuesday, the national disaster risk reduction and management council (NDRRMC) today said.The Butig
river overflowed and rampaging waters hit at least 10 houses along the river
banks, the NDRRMC quoted a report from theOffice of Civil Defense (OCD) in
the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).Lanao
del Sur is one of the component provinces of ARMM with the provinces of Maguindanao,
Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.
In its website, the NDCC identified the affected villages Sandak, Gulaman and Sibaran, all in Butig and
situated along the Butig river. Nobody was hurt in the incident but at least 10 families were rendered homeless due to floods spawned by typhoon 'Seniang.'
