South Upi parish celebrate with Teduray peace advocate for winning int'l award
SOUTH UPI, Maguindanao - The parishioners of Our Lady of
Salvation Parish here, mostly Teduray tribes, celebrate with a Teduray woman who won aninternational award for advocating non-violence and the rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Jude Martin Jover of Timanan, South Upi was one ofthis year's winners of the N-Peace Awards in the
category Untold Storiesand
Women Transforming their Communities” of the N-Peace Awards.
Fr. Dennis Gui, OMI, parish priest in Our
Lady of Salvation parish, said Jover brought honor for South Upi and the
Teduray tribe. Our Parish is one with
her in peace building and in promoting the rights of the Indigenous Peoples,” he
said.
The lone winner from
the Philippines, Jover was among the 10 individuals inIndonesia, Pakistan, Myanmar, Nepal, Afghanistan, and the
Philippines,recognized by N-Peace Network, according to award giving body

In her Facebook wall, Jover thanked
all her friends, relatives, co-workers and fellow advocates.Specifically, she thanked Dr. Jasmin
Nario-Galace of Center for Peace Education (CPE) - Miriam College for
nominating me as candidate for the N-Peace, I owe this award from you. It is an
opportunity to let the world know that ordinary women can contribute to
peace-building.”
