Truck falls off cliff in South Cotabato, driver from Cotabato City dies

LAKE SEBU, South Cotabato -A dump truck fell off a 50 meter deep cliff here on Monday, killing its driver and wounded another in a freak accident, police said.Chief Inspector Joven Bagaygay, Lake Sebu town police chief, told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida that ERwin Garsuta, 50 of Almonte Street, Cotabato City, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Lake Sebu Municipal Hospital.His helper, Rey Sodaw, 21, was critically injured.Bagaygay said 10-wheeler dump the truck (WSD-990)was negotiating a concrete sharp curve in Barangay Tasiman, Lake Sebuwhen it wayward to the right side of the descending road.Witnesses said the truck was speeding.
