6th ID hosts PMA entrance exam for 517 aspirants
CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao -- More than 500 aspirants took the Philippine Military Academy Entrance Examination (PMAEE) on Sunday at the 6th Infantry Dviision, the biggest number of examinees who took the test at the 6th Infantry Division.About 517 examines arrived to try their luck at joining the country’s premier military school. Out of 517 applicants, 378 were males and 139 were females. The number of examinees this year is greater than last years 400for Central Mindanao, Capt. Joan Petinglay, 6th ID spokesperson said. The significant increase was due tomassive recruitment information drives that were conducted prior to the conduct of the exam in the different schools in the area. According to one male examinee from Kabacan, North Cotabato, the assistanceof the 6ID in providing transportation for the examinees had been very helpful for them to be able to arrive at the examination area safely and promptly. He further said that he wished to be a soldier because he wants to be like the military men he sees visible in community relations activities.A team of proctors from PMA headed by Major Aliyah Robles, facilitated the one day exam at the 6ID Gymnasium which ended at about 7:30 in the evening. The results are expected to be out after a month through the national papers and through the PMA and announced on website ( and//www.pma.ph/ www.pma.ph ).Major Gen. Edmundo R. Pangilinan, 6th ID chief, said he washoping that many applicants from this area will pass the exam so more future AFP officers who can come back to the area and contribute in the Army campaign of ajust and lasting peace in Central Mindanao.
