Duterte names Pinol DA secretary

DAVAO CITY -- Former North Cotabato Gov. Emmanuel Pinol has been chosen to serve as agriculture secretary of incoming President Rody Duterte.Duterte's selection committee has been meeting in Davao City forming his administration's cabinet members.Aside from Pinol, the selection team also identified the followingand Peter Laurel as Education secretary, Gilbert Teodoro as defense chief, Andrea Domingo as PAGCOR head, Atty. Salvador Medialdea as executive secretary, Atty. Salvador Panelo as presidential spokesperson, Perfecto Yasay as acting foreign affairs secretary.Duterte told reporters Monday that he has offered a cabinet post for communist party leader Joma Sison.Pinol was the brain behind Duterte's program for farmersand authored a book on agriculture program for Duterte, entitled Feeding Millionsand Duterte's food security blueprint.
