MAGPET, North Cotabato – A 29-year-old woman sustained facial burnsafter her lover allegedly poured hostile acid on her over lovers’
quarrel Wednesday, the victim said Friday.

Helen, not her real name, said she decided to break up her
relationship with the man named Anthony Talotalo, son of a Magpet town councilor,
after he lied he was single and available.

I will destroy your face so no one will benefit from it,”
Helen quoted Talotalo as telling her during an argument.

Helen lately learned Talotalo was a family man.

I decided politely to end our relationship in order not to
destroy her family and his name,” she said in an interview. This angered the suspect. He threatened me with bodily harm if I will push the break
up,” she added.

Police could no longer locate Talotalo who reportedly went
into hiding.

Helen who sustained serious burns in her left eye and face
vowed to file appropriate charges.

The suspect’s mother, Helen said, visited her in the
hospital.

It was not known whether the local official would take care
of her medical expenses.
