Father, 4yo son die in SoCot highway mishap

CITY - A father and son died in a freak accident in the Tantangan, South Cotabato Wednesday, a belated report said. Policemen
identified the fatalities as Ruben Marquez of legal age and his 4-year-old son JV, both Presidents
of the village of Estrella in President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat.Marquez was driving his Honda XRM motorbike with his son sitting in front when it was hit by an opposing wayward Mitsubishi pick-up vehicle in Barangay Maibu, Tantangan, South Cotabato. Prior
to the accident, a loud explosion was heard in the pick up engine causing the
driver to lost control of the vehicle
and swerved to the opposite lane of the road, hitting the victims' motorcycle. The
victims died on the spot. The
driver of the pick up vehicle, Edward Borong, 24 years old of Poblacion
Tantangan, and his passenger Erna Castro, 34 of Isulan, Sultan Kudarat were
slightly injured .

Policemen
are now preparing appropriate charges against Borong who is now under the custody
of Tantangan Municipal Police Station.
