KIDAPAWAN CITY – The
provincial capitol of North Cotabato here is bustling with lights expressing
joyous season and peaceful holidays, officials said today. Lights and Christmas decors
enveloped the three-story provincial capitol building in Barangay Amas here
converting it into a tourist attraction among locals. The capitol building is bordered with
assorted Christmas lights deliberately placed all over the structure and the
decorations of every office which make the area more eye-catching. And because Christmas is really
here, employees are grateful for all the good things which made life more
meaningful and even the not-so-good things that happened to us which taught us
to become better persons,” said Jaime Sta Cruz of the office of the provincial
governor media bureau. With this, we can always be like
Christmas lights that shine in the dark night giving radiance to others.

And like the amusing Christmas lights in the
Provincial Capitol that captivate our hearts, we hope that we will be even more
successful and happier in life while helping others in their journey just like
what the Star of Bethlehem has done for the three wise men,” he said. With its glittering Christmas
lights, everyone will surely be fascinated by the view of the Provincial
Capitol at night, North Cotabato Gov. Emmylou Mendoza said as she urged
Cotabatenios to pay a visit to the site at night. Lights are all over the
castle-inspired center of the capitol building as well as in the entire
structure and the trees and bushes that align at the sides are also filled with
lights making the entire place a sight to behold. For some years now, the governor
thought of making the Provincial Capitol a place to behold every Christmas
season, thus the sparkling lights at the building were present every December
make every constituents inspired. Mendoza believed that Christmas
lights symbolize hope for the people of the Province of Cotabato in spite of the
trying times and the difficult situations and the ongoing conflict in some
areas, there is still that chance to unite and live in harmony. As a season full of love, care and compassion
Christmas is an opportunity for all of us to look forward to better and
brighter days,” the governor said. Optimistic in attaining this, Mendoza
looks at Christmas as an opportune time for every opposing party or group to
reconcile and learn to coexist. Meanwhile, people continue to visit
the Provincial Capitol at night to see the wonderful display of Christmas
lights and take their photos in the place as souvenir.
