RPOC-12 convenes after Davao blast
KORONADAL CITY
– Members of the Regional Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (RLECC) chaired by Chief Supt. Cedrick Trainand
members of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) chaired by South
Cotabato Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes gathered here Monday in a Joint Regional
Crisis Management Committee (RCMC) meeting to ensure peace and security of the
region.
It was the
first time that all government leaders from LGU, Law Enforcement Agencies, AFP
and PNP sit down together in one venue to discuss details pertaining to the
security of the region and on how to improve such.
The meeting
came after the recent bombing incident at Davao City and the declaration of President
Rodrigo Roa Duterte of state of the lawless violence in the country.
It was
conducted at FB Hotel, Koronadal City.
Present during the meeting were Fuentes, Police Regional
Director Chief Supt. Cedrick Train, Interior and Local Government Dir. Reynaldo
Bungubung, Army’s 1002nd Infantry Brigade commander Brig. Gen.
Ronald Villanueva 601st Infantry Brigade commander Colonel Cerelito
Sobejana.
Also in
attendance were ranking officials of regional law enforcement agencies in the
SOCCKSARGEN region.
Our Regional
Director Chief Supt. Cedrick Train recommended for this joint emergency meeting
so that we could have a unified view, synchronized plans and actions pertaining
to the security of our region,” Supt. Romeo Galgo, regional public information
office chief, said.
We are also
reiterating our call to the public to be aware and be vigilant in their
surroundings particularly of suspicious persons and items. If there is any,
please report it immediately to the nearest police station,” Galgo said.
