Koronadal's pedicab driver shows what honesty is

KORONADAL CITY - He could be P5,000 with two expensive mobile phones richer by now had he changed his mind.But Danny Agudo, 38, driver of arented pedicab here, believed what was not his, will never be his. He told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida life is hard for him and the instant cash could be his month-long income in an instant.With his cab empty and about to call it a day on Saturday, a hard working pedicab drivercruising along Aquino Avenue at past 6 p.m. found a sling bag at a roadside.Agudo, a resident of Barangay Zone 4, picked the bag and opened it. He found cash and two expensive mobile phones.Without second thought, he went straight to the police station and reported his discovery, hoping the owner sought police assistance. The owner, Safruddin Rascal, a government employee and resident of Agan Homes in Barangay Sta Cruz, went to the police station to report the missing bag. Safruddin and his wife Ayna also dialed the mobile phones that Agudo picked up and the recovery process began for the bag that contains valuable amounting to about P30,000.The couple was grateful the sling bag landed in the hands of a good man.It was not clear if the couple offered reward money for Agudo.For Agudo, he was happy his honesty made the day for the Rascal couple complete.Surely it will not escape from the attention of Koronadal City government which had been recognizing people who made Koronadalenios proud.
