KIDAPAWAN
CITY - Ten proficient Peoples’ Organizations (PO’s) in the North
Cotabato received a much-needed loan assistance from the Mindanao Rural
Development Program – Adoptable Program Loan (MRDP-APL) in the amount of P5 million. In a
simple turnover held at the Provincial Governor’s Office, personnel
from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) and the Provincial
Accountants Office (PACCO) facilitated the turnover of around 30 checks to the
representatives of the PO’s.

Each
PO received a check amounting to P166,666.67, according to Dr. Lucita Daval,
Focal Person of MRDP – Community Fund for Agricultural Development and Senior
Agriculturist of the OPAg.
Daval
said that the MRDP endorsed to them the checks assistance early this month as a
realignment of funds intended for other provinces in Region 12.
The
beneficiary PO’s appeared to have performed well and have impressed the MRDP
for the positive impact they created towards their members and the community as
well,” Daval said.
Ulysses
C. Quinto, OIC of the Provincial Planning and development Office (PPDO), said MRDP
released the funds to the PO’s based in North Cotabato because of their clearly
good performance and partnership with the Provincial Government of Cotabato in
implementing various livelihood projects.
The PO-beneficiaries
were Rangayen Upland Rice Diversified Farmers Association of Barangay Rangayen,
Alalamada Makakalikasan, Makataong Magsasaka ng Lower Glad of Barangay Lower
Glad, Midsayap MABAKAL Irrigators Association, Inc. of Barangay Kalaisan,

Nagcarlan Coconut Farmers Organization of Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas.
All
these PO’s are producers of organic crops such as rice, black rice, fancy rice,

The
P5 million loan assistance was the first of two tranches the MRDP will release, Daval
and Quinto both said.
