2 dead in Antipas, Midsayap shooting incidents
NORTH COTABATO – Two were killed, one of them a Christian pastor, while three others were badly wounded in separate shooting incidents in this province from late Thursday to early Friday.
Ernesto Estrella, 51, a leader of a local Christian sect, was driving his motorcycle in the town center of Antipas, North Cotabato when two men armed with pistols attacked.
He was killed on the spot from bullet wounds in different parts of his body.
Personnel of the Antipas municipal police are still investigating on the incident.
A carpenter named Ronald Mallari, 44, was killed by a gunman in Midsayap town in the first district of North Cotabato several hours before.
Master Sgt. Rene Jay Flores, officer-on-case, said Mallari and companions Marius Hernani, 45, Mike Gumayao, 64, and the 36-year-old Michael John Dela were in a house in Barangay Salunayan, Midsayap when a pistol-wielding man arrived and opened fire.
Mallari succumbed to multiple bullet wounds, according to Flores.
His three companions, who were wounded in the attack, were rushed to a hospital for treatment.
