2 die in 2 shooting cases in Midsayap

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato – Two persons were killed
in two separate shooting incidents here Thursday with the suspects using
motorcycle as getaway vehicles after committing murders, police said.

At past 1 p.m., Ibrahim Manisil, 30 of Barangay
Nabalawag, Midsayap, North Cotabato was sitting on his motorbike waiting for
passenger when two men riding tandem on a separate motorbike, arrived and shot
him dead.

The crime scene was fronting the town hall and a stone
throw away from Midsayap police station.

At past 5 p.m. Arturo Bergas, 32 years old, farmer and resident of Kaparuyan,
Libungan, North Cotabato was driving his motorbike along the national highway
when two men, also riding tandem on separate motorcycle, positioned beside him
and opened fire using cal. 45 pistol.

He died on the spot.

The twin incidents are still under investigation, according
to Supt. Gilbert Tuzon, Midsayap town police chief.

A police investigator said the incidents could be
related to illegal drug trade but probers are also looking at other angles.
