3 malls to open in Cotabato City this year

COTABATO CITY -- Three privately-owned malls are set to open this year in the city and building construction have started, officials said Tuesday.The three malls are the Mall of Alnor, Puregold and CityMall.The Mall of Alnor, Puregold and the Superama Hypermart, a department store and supermarket, are set to open in May this year, according to Aniceto Rasalan, secretary to Mayor Japal Guiani Jr.The City Mall, a Double Dragon Corporation Mall is expected to start operation late this year or early 2016. It has started construction of building along Gov. Gutierrez Avenue, just beside the Metro Cotabato Water District office.Rasalan said the opening of these commercial establishments will pave the way for an increase in employment level, tourism rate and will give a big boost in the city’s economy.As the city's economy grow, the city also expect criminality to rise thus the city government has designed programs that will contain such social menace.The local government is set to install the second phase of the CCTV cameras along strategic areas in the upper part of Cotabato City.
