4 hurt in Mamasapano rifle grenade attack
MAMASAPANO, Maguindanao-- Four persons were injured after a rifle grenade fired from a distance landed near the Manungkaling
Elementary School in Mamasapano, Maguindanao at past 10 a.m. Monday.
The blast came minutes after Mamasapano Mayor Benzar
Ampatuan had cast his vote.He was unharmed.Police identified the wounded civilians as Johaira
Mohammad, 23, Saela, 27, Paetra, 42 and Ibrahim, 23, all surnamed Usop.
The Usops reside at the back of
the school.

Division’s CHOP (Clean, Honest, Orderly and Peaceful) Elections, said voting
resumed an hour later.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack but
residents believed it was meant to scare the voters.
In Cotabato City, the Parish Pastoral Council for
Responsible Voting (PPCRV) volunteers pulled out from poll watching in Barangay
Kalanganan following a commotion Monday morning.
Joel Cadelina of PPCRV said the volunteers opted to
withdraw when they feel threatened by the presence of men who told team to
leave the place.
