5 die in Cotabato, Kidapawan motorbike accidents
COTABATO CITY -- A man and his brother-in-law were killed in a deadly highway accident here on Tuesday night, DXMS-AM Radyo Bidasaid in a report.A couple and a child, all on board a motorbikewere also killed in separate highway mishap in Kidapawan City.Killed on the spot in Cotabato City accidentwas Sandro dela Cruz, 28 of Parang, Maguindanao. His back-rider, Jennifer Jimenez, 25, male, of Barangay Broce, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.Traffic investigation showed the two were heading down town when the motorbike overshot from the descending portion of Sinsuat Avenue at past 9 p.m.The bike appeared to be speeding as the driver lost control of it and slammed onto a concrete roadside Santos Lechon Manok stall. Dela Crus died on the spot after his head smashed a concrete wall while Jimenez was thrown off the bike and landed on the Lechon Manok stall. Jimenez expired in the hospital.Both sustained head injuries.The city traffic management unit is reminding motorists of the danger of over speeding, especially among motorcycle drivers.In Kidapawan City, a man, his wife and a child were killed after the motorcycle they were riding slammed on a parked hauler truck in Barangay Amas at past 5 a.m. Wednesday.The victims were only identified through their family name of Ramirez of Kabacan, North Cotabato.Alexander Ostria, Barangay Amas chairperson, told DXND-AM Radyo Bida that the motorbike driver apparently did not notice the parked hauler truck.They sustained head injuries.The victims, according to Ostria, were not wearing crash helmets.Village officials brought the remains toWoodhaven Funeral Homes in Barangay Manongol, Kidapawan City.
