6 arrested, guns, grenades seized in Cotabato City anti illegal drug raid
COTABATO
CITY – Six persons were arrested by joint government law
enforcers in an intensified anti-illegal drug operation in a remote village here
Tuesday, authorities said.
The
raid was conducted by joint elements of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in
the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao(PDEA-ARMM), Army Special Forces and
Cotabato City police in a drug den in Purok Dumpsite, Malagapas, Barangay
Rosary Heights 10, Cotabato City at 3 p.m.
In a
statement, PDEA-ARMM identified the suspects as Bimbo Sapi Anton, 41, his wife
Judith Santos Anton, 37, both of Barangay Kusiong, Datu Odin Sinsuat,
Maguindanao, Noraisa Ambit Abag, 38 Nida Mamilintaw Usman, 43, both of
Barangay Rosary Heights 10, Nor Hamid, Ismael Anas, 33, residents of Poblacion
3, Cotabato city and Datu Nhor Ismael, 34 of Datu Piang, Maguindanao.
Armed
with arrest warrants for Bimbo Anton, government forces posed as buyers of
methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.” After the deal was consummated, the
lawmen barged inside a house which turned out to be an illegal drug den.
Police
seized 50 grams of shabu from Anton with estimated street value of
P150,000. Also seized from the
suspects were cal. 45 pistol, bullets, a fragmentation grenade and illegal drug
paraphernalia.PDEA-ARMM
investigation showed that Anton was the leader of illegal drug pushers while
the drug den was maintained by two women.
Charges
for violation of Republic Act 9165 have been prepared for filing at the
prosecutors’ office.
