6th ID's KPAC now open to Muslim, Christian and lumad Camp Siongco visitors
CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao -- The Army’s 6thInfantry Division on Thursday launched the Kampilan Public Assistance Center (KPAC), a doorway for peace programs meant to hasten the cordiality of local sectors and the military.The KPAC, where historical visual aids and a collection of firearms recovered by soldiers from rebels in past encounters are displayed, will also function as a press center, where journalists covering the activities of 6thID can write news reports.The launching of the newly-established KPAC was attended by the vice commander of the Armed Forces, Major Gen. Demosthenes Santillan. This KPAC will be our first line of public service to all Muslim, Christian and lumad people who may wish to come to Camp Siongco for a purpose,” said 6thID’s commander, Major. Gen. Edmundo Pangilinan.Pangilinan said the KPAC, located just meters away from the main gate of Camp Siongco in Datu Odin Sinsuat town in Maguindanao, shall be a showcase of the Army’s civil-relations thrusts complementing President Benigno Aquino III’s peace overtures with Southern Mindanao’s Moro sectors.The 6thID is actively involved in various peace programs intended to boost the cordiality between the national government and the Moro communities in Central Mindanao. The center shall be manned by our uniformed public servants whose primary mission is to serve all people who may come in through this facility,” Pangilinan said.
