KIDAPAWAN CITY --- Seven overseas Filipino workers returning to North Cotabato were hurt when the van hired to charter them from the Davao City airport to their hometowns figured in an accident late Saturday.

The van flipped and landed on its side after its driver lost control and hit another van while maneuvering through a stretch of a highway in Barangay Ulas in Davao City, made slippery by heavy downpours.

The injured OFWs were identified as Noraina Puasa, Fe Nato, Rose del Torre, Naira Abad, Mary Joy Capilitan, Rommel Enate and Mae Lampon.

A responding police team and rescuers from the Davao City local government unit immediately rushed the victims to a hospital.

North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco, chairperson of the provincial risk reduction and management council, said Sunday her office will extend help to her seven injured constituents.
