73-year-old man dies of electric shock

MIDSAYAP,
North Cotabato – A 73-year-old man returning home in a hurryafter a day-long
farming activity died due to electric shocks, police said.

Leoncio
Segunda, farmer of Purok Daisy, Barangay Bual Sur, was walking home at past 5 p.m.
amid heavy downpour when he slid at a roadside.

Witnesses said
Segunda’s feet lost grip on the road surface and forcing him to grab a steel
electric post which triggered electric shocks.

They saw
Seguda thrown off a few meters from the post.

He was rushed to
the hospital but declared dead on arrival.

It was the
second case of electric shock incident that occurred in Midsayap on Friday.

Earlier in the
day, a 49-year-old woman died of electric shock after her son attached a live
wire to the clothesline while she was hanging washed clothes.
