Another explosion hits Cotabato City
COTABATO CITY – Another grenade exploded in this city,
this time right at the perimeter fence near themain sentinel gate of 6th Civil Military
Operations Battalion at PC Hill.
The blast at 6:15 p.m., the fourth since Nov. 14, occurred while
the Veterans Avenue where the CMO battalion office was located, was busy with
commuters, motorists and even pedestrians.
Nobody was hurt in the incident which according to Senior Insp.
Lorenzo Henares, police station 1 chief.
Quoting initial investigation results, Henares said two men
riding together on a motorbike and a white car were seen passing by the gate
shortly before the blast. Aman was also
seen running away second before the explosion.

Bomb experts are yet to determine what kind of explosive was
used by the suspects and the motive.
The Army Special Forces Battalion said today’s blast was the
fourth since the grenade attack at the compound of Cotabato Light and Power
Company, the blast along Sinsuat Avenue corner Rosales Street and the discovery
of a live hand grenade in front of Cafe Florencio Bingco center, also along
Sinsuat Avenue.
Police and military authorities are eyeing the possible
involvement of illegal drug syndicates and lawless Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom
