Army, PNP arrest Maguindanao large-scale drug trafficker
CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao--- Combined Army and anti-narcotics operatives on Sunday arrested a well-armed large-scale drug trafficker in Ampatuan town in south of the province.The suspect, Norodin Kasan Sangki, voluntarily turned himself in after sensing that agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and combatants of the Army’s 33rdInfantry Battalion have surrounded his house, ready to open fire if provoked.Intelligence agents of the 33rdIB, a component unit of the Army’s 6thInfantry Division, helped the PDEA locate Sangki, whose network has been supplying Shabu on a large-scale basis to buyers in more than a dozen towns in the second district of Maguindanao.Captain Jo-Ann Petinglay, spokesperson of 6thID, said the combined Army-PDEA raiding team recovered from Sangki’s hideout an M-16 assault rifle and two customized caliber .45 pistols.Also arrested were the wife of Sangki and two others, whose names the PDEA declined to reveal pending the verification of their exact identities.The suspects were immediately detained at PDEA's office in Cotabato City, where corresponding cases are now being prepared against them.
