Binay confident he will win in 2016
TACURONG CITY
- Despite his decreasing numbers in surveys, Vice President Jejomar Binay was
still confident he will win the 2016 elections.
Binay revealed
this during a gathering in Sultan Kudarat Governor’s palace Monday where he met with political allies. Bumaba po ang
rating natin sa survey ng Pulse Asia, tumaas si Grace Poe, pero simula ng
lumabas ang result ng survey parating pangalawa lang si Grace sa akin (My
rating drops and Grace Poe’s rating increased, she used to be second to me),”
Binay told reporters.
The official
said he expected controversies even before joining politics in 1986 when he
became mayor of Makati city.
Inaasahan ko
na po ang mga ganitong pamumulitika ng mga kalaban natin (I expect this kind of
political mudslinging from my political enemies),” he said.
Binay said
that the accusations against him and his family remain baseless since there are
no concrete evidences presented and if there are these were not cross-examined.
Hangang
ngayon puro lang naman sila akusasyon laban sa akin at sa pamilya ko, pero wala
parin silang napapatunayan dahil wala naman talaga silang mapapatunayan (All accusations,
all lies against me and my family, they cannot prove anything wrong with me)”
Binay said of his accusers.
Binay, who
declared his presidential bid two years ago, had been the subject of what he
said was political harassment. He was
accused of graft and for receiving kickbacks for the alleged overpriced Makati City
Hall 2 building.
