Bora-bora costs motorist's life in Koronadal
KORONADAL CITY -- A village councilman here allegedly shot dead Friday a motorist who used a motorbike with open pipe that produced irritating noise.Supt. Barney Condes, Koronadal City police director, identified the victim as Ronelo Galayogo, 31 of Barangay Namnama, Koronadal City while the suspect as Barangay Councilman Dante Manuel of Purok Magsaysay, Barangay Namnama. Condes said Manuel surrendered to village officials and later to police after the incident that transpired at 2 a.m.Manuel and the residents have earlier complained of too much noise every time the suspect on motorbike with bora-bora (open pipe) muffler roam around the village.Despite repeated reminders, the suspect allegedly continue using the bike even during unholy hours.Manuel was awakened by the noise of Galayogo's car so he pulled his cal. 22 pistol and fired at the victim who fell and crashed after he was hit in his back.Namnama Barangay Chairman Alfredo Sotelo came to Manuel's rescue, saying the councilman only fired warning shots and that he was not under the influence of liquor.Manuel is now detained at police lock up cell.
