Bounty up for Koronadal blast suspects

KORONADAL CITY – A P100,000 reward money is being offered to anyone who gives
police authorities a tip that could lead to the identification and possible
arrest of those responsible in Sunday afternoon bombing here.
City Mayor
Peter Miguel, speaking over Church-run Radio DXOM-AM, said the reward money
will help the police fast track the identification and prosecution of those who
set off a homemade beside the Christ the King Cathedral that hurt two persons.
Miguel said
police have in custody footage of two persons, including a woman, who left the
explosive in a parked pedicab beside the Church and in front of a convenience
store along GenSan driver, Koronadal City.
On Monday, PNP
Director Gen. Oscar Abayalde visit the blast site and had a chat with the blast
victims, Dindo Legalag, 44 of Barangay General Paulinos Santos sa syudad and
Generosa Festin, 44, vendor of Barangay Topland, both in Koronadal City.
Abayalde said the
police are in custody of a CCTV footage showing a woman leaving a powerful
improvised bomb in front of 747 Convenience Store and another who left the
improvised bomb on a tricycle.
No relief
order yet, I give the two officials the time to investigate, arrest the suspects
and solve the crime, Abayalde told reporters of Police Superintendent Ronald
Allan Penaverde, Koronadal City police director and Senior Supt. Nestor
Salcedo, South Cotabato police provincial director.

Marcelo Morales, the police director for Region 12, said the outlawed
Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) are among the possible suspects.
It was a
diversionary tactic of the BIFF due to the series of arrests we made in the
region, Morales said in a news conference.
But Abu Misri
Mama, speaking for the BIFF, denied involvement in the attack. He blamed the Army and the police in the bomb
attack and blame it on us.
More police and
military checkpoints have been set up around Koronadal.
Morales also placed
the entire police force in Region 12 under alert status to prevent similar
