Butandings sighted in Polloc Port, Maguindanao
PARANG, Maguindanao – Four whale sharks, the world’s
largest fish and more known as Butanding,” were sighted by fisher folks in
Polloc Port Sunday and provided some relief to residents and officials of the
sea port, officials said.
Sultan Tony Musim, chair of Maguindanao Bantay Dagat” (sea
patrol), told DXMS Radyo Bida that one of the Butandings” has minor wounds on
its side.
Paikot ikot sila malapit sa pantalan, may maliit na sugat yong
isa, siguro mga 30 feet ang haba ng Butanding,” Musim said.
Residents said the Buntadings were seen every now and then, swimming
and gliding with the fishermen’s motorboats, from Friday to Sunday.
Our bantay dagat members barred the people and the children
from harming the butanding, they just watched,” Musim said.
