Challenging cops, Kidapawan thieves strike anew at day time

KIDAPAWAN CITY - As if taunting police authorities, motorcycle thieves strike here anew and carted away expensive motorcycle parts.The robbery occurred in broad daylight Thursday, a defiant act against local authorities who remained clueless as to the identities of the robbery gangs.Government employeeKennedy Mabalo, 42of Barangay Lanao, Kidapawan City, told police his motorcycle parts were taken by still unidentified men at past 9 a.m.Taken by the suspects were three swing arm of Suzuki Raider 150 cc and Yamaha DT motorcycle, two telescopic shock absorber and many others.Even the house of Kidapawan City Prosecutor Robie Ann Solacito's mother in Angie Subdivision, Kidapawan Citywas also robbed at 1 p.m. Thursday.Without revealing the amount of stolen items, Solacito told police that unidentified robbers entered her mother's home by destroying window glass panes.The other day, robbers also took a motorbike parked inside a compound in Barangay Sikita, Kidapawan City.The robbers could be singing catch me if you can, as they fled with their loot.Motorcycle theft is among the leading crime against property in North Cotabato. Aside from illegal drugs, the police is faced with rampant cases of motorcycle theft here.
